How to often do you trim your dog's nails? Do you or someone else trim the nails and how do they do it? The dogs nails are trimmed when they go to the groomers every 5-6 wks
Tell us something cute or sweet that your newf does? I love when they get on the couch with us when we’re watching TV & throw themselves across our laps.
How has the newfoundland dog impacted your life? Do you have a fond memory that you would like to share? Doing therapy work with these dogs has been life changing. Seeing the impact these dogs have on people is humbling & rewarding. I was visiting at a local hospital with one of our Newfs. We were on the Pediatric Outpatient Floor. We had just gotten off the elevator & this woman was walking by. She stopped in front of us. It was clear to see she was struggling. She was upset. She asked if she could pet him. I responded with “Of course, that’s what we’re here for”. She dropped to her knees & wrapped her arms around his chest, put her head on his back & cried. We stood there for a few minutes. She collected herself & told me how much she appreciated it & said he was just what she needed. It was absolutely beautiful witnessing the gentle spirit of this dog giving comfort to this person who just needed some comfort.
Tell us your biggest Newfoundland brag? Getting a water title & then a draft title on each dog within 2 months is pretty spectacular.
