Do you have other breeds? Tell us about them? In addition to the two Newfies I have a 7 year old Pug. He is a super sweet guy that I have had since he was 9 weeks old.

Are you an active breeder? No
What attracted you to the newfoundland breed? When I got my first newfoundland my husband was actually looking for a Saint Bernard. Neither of us had ever even heard of the Newfoundland breed. I stumbled across a newfoundland puppy that was 12-weeks old and located in PA. We decided to make the leap and from the moment I met my (late) Charley Girl, newfoundlands have been my whole hearted passion. I can't put my finger on it but something about the breed speaks to my soul.
What areas of sport/competition interest you? (Conformation, Draft, Water Rescue, Therapy, Rally, Obedience, other)? I really would love to get into water rescue, therapy, and conformation.
Do you handle your own dog? Never
Do you remember the first time you met a newfoundland? My Charley Girl and her mom. 2020
Do you allow your dogs on your bed or furniture? YES!!
Do you groom your own dog? No
How to often do you trim your dog's nails? Do you or someone else trim the nails and how do they do it? I do not let nails get too long. Once I hear them they get a Dremel taken to them.
Tell us something cute or sweet that your newf does? My older male, 5, loves to suck on blankets (specifically my comforter) and my younger female, 20-months, has liked to hold a finger or two in her mouth. She doesn't bite down, just holds it in her mouth.
How has the newfoundland dog impacted your life? Do you have a fond memory that you would like to share? Newfs have changes my life in a significant way. Once she is able to have her hips and elbows tested and passes her OFA screenings I will begin breeding. Eventually, I will leave my current place of employment for this but the end goal is to train the puppies for water rescue and therapy. The Newf community is like no other. If you meet a newfie owner/lover there is an almost instant bond with them.
Tell us your biggest Newfoundland brag? Fitz (the 5 year old male) is now an official blood donor!! Other than that, just having Newfs in my life counts as bragging rights
