Do you have other breeds? Tell us about them? 5 labradors., all rescues but 1- Twyla.

Are you an active breeder? No
What attracted you to the newfoundland breed? Their size! Also their wonderful temperament
What areas of sport/competition interest you? (Conformation, Draft, Water Rescue, Therapy, Rally, Obedience, other)? We do it all! Both Newfs are certified Therapy dogs, do conformation, draft, water, FastCat, Dock diving and obedience. Both are also animal actors.
Do you handle your own dog? Sometimes
Have you earned titles with your dog/s? Tell us about them? Oliver is is a GCH, and has his VN title. He was the first Newfoundland to earn an FCAT title. Amber dock dives, and has her draft title.
Do you remember the first time you met a newfoundland? I was 10 years old in NH and there were 2 magnificent black dogs. I fell instantly in love with them and swore one day I would have one. it took me 45 more years for my dream to come true.
Do you allow your dogs on your bed or furniture? Yes, but they rarely do.
Do you groom your own dog? Yes
How to often do you trim your dog's nails? Do you or someone else trim the nails and how do they do it? I trim nails once a week,
Tell us something cute or sweet that your newf does? Oliver loves to play fetch, but is terrible at it! It is really cute to watch him always try to catch it though.
Amber- keeps everyone but Twyla in line. Twyla(the lab) rules the household.
How has the newfoundland dog impacted your life? Do you have a fond memory that you would like to share? I have met some of the nicest and most helpful people since adding the Newfs to my life. Oliver has made dreams come true for me that I did not know I had. Going to Westminster is a top memory for sure.
Tell us your biggest Newfoundland brag? Oh man there are a lot! Oliver is most famous for the National Jeep Grand Cherokee commercial "Going on a Bear Hunt", but getting our WD and WRD titles on the same day was pretty incredible! Amber- will be in an upcoming Disney Marvel show later this year. Both dogs were given a Cannes Film Festival for a movie roll in 2024 as well.
